From the time just before we married and the 53 years after, Pete was always spoken of with fondness. He had a huge presence, always ready with a joke and a laugh. We moved overseas but would always look forward to a pint and good company at the Stone Jug when we visited. Our girls talked of him as the Mean Machine as his booming laugh and loud voice was a contrast to the dulcet tones at home!

We admired his strength of character and his spirit in fighting his cancers. In our phone calls he was always positive, preferring to talk about his new car rather than any ill health.
A special man, unforgettable in character. We will miss him greatly.
Pete, rest in peace, the fight was well fought but now over.
